SPICED APPLE CIDER
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 1 1/4 1 1/4quart QUART_USVolumeapple cider
- 3 3 3tablespoons TABLESPOON_USVolumefirmly packed light-brown sugar
- 7 7 7whole cinnamon sticks (6 sticks for garnish)
- 1 1 1teaspoon TEASPOON_USVolumeground allspice
- 1/2 1/2 1/2teaspoon TEASPOON_USVolumeground ginger
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 1/2 1/2cup CUP_USVolumeCalvados or other brandy (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together cider, sugar, spices, and salt.
- Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat.
- Remove from heat; pour in brandy, if desired.
- Strain into a pitcher; discard solids.
- Serve in mugs, garnished with cinnamon sticks.
